Approach
Our approach is informed by contemporary psychoanalytic developments. It focuses on a profound respect for the human psyche and emotional life. It works on the deeper causes of psychological dis-eases to enable a person to better think, understand and master his difficulties.
What is Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis?
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy has a number of fundamental assumptions about the human experience:
- Individuals are governed by both conscious and unconscious processes.
- Unresolved relationships and experiences from the past are repeated and re-enacted in the present, causing emotional and mental distress.
- The individual and professional relationship with the psychotherapist is at the core of working through underlying difficulties.
Thus being able to reach and gain insight into the roots of conflicts results in the resolution of symptoms and enrichment of the personality. This is as true for Adults as for Children and Adolescents.
